John -
Wendy Davis grew up knowing what it means to struggle. She's been a teenage mother, in line at the grocery store counter, trying to decide what to put back because every penny had to stretch. She's seen her children, and now her grandchildren, directly affected by decisions made in Washington that don't represent our shared American values.
That's why she's running for Congress in Texas' District 21 against incumbent Chip Roy, who preaches the coronavirus pandemic is "a hoax" - even as nearly 160 thousand Americans have died from it.
Wendy caught the nation's attention when, in 2013, she stood on the Texas House floor as a State Senator and filibustered for 11 hours to block the passage of an anti-abortion bill brought forth by Republicans. That's the type of fight she'll bring to Congress, John.
Can you help her get there by chipping in $6 to her campaign right now?

Wendy is fighting a tough campaign in the San Antonio to Austin area, historically a "GOP stronghold." But Wendy is giving Chip Roy a run for his money. The former Chief of Staff for Senator Ted Cruz is an extreme voice who spent his time in Washington looking out for corporate drug makers and wealthy special interests. In fact, he's one of only 40 (out of 435) members of Congress to vote against the coronavirus relief fund for businesses.
Wendy has struggled her way through community college, to Harvard, and raised two daughters, Amber and Drew. Those experiences taught her that, even in losing, we help shape the future. It's not personal achievements or failures that create change; it's working together to fight for what matters. For Wendy, what matters most is the future, which belongs to all of us.
Wendy has been endorsed by progressive groups like Emily's List, Giffords Law Center, Moms Demand Action, and End Citizens United.
I'm proud to add my name to this strong list and support a candidate who fights for working Americans. Join me by making a contribution today.
