At the age of 21, Jessica found herself facing an unexpected pregnancy alone.
Her baby’s father struggled with substance abuse issues. Her mother had passed away, and her father was out of her life. Friends began pressuring her to have an abortion. She had no support, no money, and no hope.
Even though she didn’t want an abortion, she felt it was the only way forward.
Desperate for a way out, Jessica prayed that God would physically stop her from getting the abortion but proceeded to schedule an appointment anyway.
As her boyfriend drove her to the abortion appointment, God answered that prayer.
Their car lost control as they exited the freeway, and they were forced to pull over. One of their tires had gone flat. When her boyfriend went to check the trunk for the spare, he found that it was flat too.
As Jessica sat there in the car on the side of the road, she was suddenly filled with overwhelming peace. She had missed the abortion appointment, and her baby was safe.
Today, her son, Ezekiel, is one of her greatest joys.
Jessica told her story through Live Action because she wants other women facing circumstances like hers to know that hope always prevails and that God always provides what is needed to do the right thing.
