Dear John,

The earth is being ravaged by climate change, from rising sea levels to mass extinctions to the displacement of people from their homes and communities.

The Amazon rainforest is burning, a crisis exacerbated by climate change, and although things are getting worse by the day, it’s not too late—yet.

We need new leadership to tackle the climate emergency. If you agree, chip in $5 here.

Addressing climate change is as much about social justice as it is about environmental justice, because the most vulnerable populations are always hit the hardest. As New Yorkers, we know just how devastating climate change can be.

In 2012, Hurricane Sandy ravaged the East Coast, leaving swaths of New York City flooded and without access to public transportation, power, schools, or basic necessities.

We need to take action before storms like Hurricane Sandy are made worse and more frequent by the effects of climate change—but the only way we’ll get there is if we all get involved in this fight.

Join us in the battle for our future. Chip in here to elect a fighter against climate change.

By 2050, over a third of properties in lower Manhattan will be at risk of storm surge. We are facing a crisis that requires bold action and committed leadership. We need a pragmatic Green New Deal to unleash a massive mobilization of investment that transforms our infrastructure and communities.

New Yorkers deserve a future without fear of losing their homes. If you agree, join us.

This issue is personal. New York is my home and I’m not giving up without a fight, but I need your help.
