As our country grapples with this epidemic of disconnection, distrust, and desperation for change, we have to remember how we arrived at this moment in order to understand our path forward.

We have:
A failing economic system.
A rigged political system.
A decaying civic life.

These trends have concentrated power in the hands of an entrenched elite.

And for everyone else — anger, cynicism, division, and isolation have emerged where our common cause once flourished.

But let’s be clear: Donald Trump is more of a symptom than a source.

He did not create the systems that have been failing for decades.

The day will come when Donald Trump is termed out. However, there will be no term limit on the broken system that produced him.

So Democrats: Let us pursue a vision for the future that meets this moment.

It starts with a bold agenda. It starts with building community in our own neighborhoods.

It starts with people like you making the decision to chip in and support this movement for our future today.
