Enjoy the fresh air, live entertainment and some great local food as the historic Nottingham Arboretum hosts the new Garden Bar andBandstand concept over a number of weekends this summer, launching on Friday 14August.

Today, two incredible live acts to kick off the summer season on the bandstand;Remy CB [ [link removed] ]&Amanda David [ [link removed] ]will be performing from 6pm, so arrive early to grab a good spot!

Local venue operators and music promoters DHP Family will bring the west end of the citys oldest and most centrally-located park to life with a fantastic entertainment programme on the bandstand, featuring a multitude of local artists, alongside a container bar from nationally renowned brewery Camden Town and pop-up food outlets, with guests curated by Nottingham Street Food Club.

*Nottinghamshire commemorations that are being held both at Victoria Embankment and St Marys church can be watched live on Notts TV from 12:30pm.*

The feed will include excerpts from the first commemoration event of the day which is a party of civic dignitaries placing wreaths at the memorial.

The live stream, a first for such an event in the city will be broadcast from St Marys Church in the Lace Market

Those unable to watch the service live on Notts TV or via thelive Notts TV Facebook feed [ [link removed] ]will be able to see the whole programme at their leisure via the Notts TV catch-up service.

The 75th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) will be recognised on 15 August 2020, commemorating the end of the Second World War.

St Marys Church in the Lace Market will host a commemorative service attended by The Lord and Deputy Lieutenants of Nottingham, The High Sheriff of Nottingham, The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, and a small group of leaders invited from local communities.
