Team,

We want to be transparent with you about something important: Scam PACs.

Scam PACs are organizations that say they are going to use your contributions to help elect Democratic candidates, but then don’t. You may get texts or emails from groups like these asking you for money, and while they can look and sound legitimate, they ultimately don’t spend most of that money on that mission at all.

This is a problem.

Deceiving Democratic supporters is not okay, and it means that the campaigns and organizations — including the DNC — that do the real work of electing Democrats miss out on crucial grassroots resources.

That’s why the DNC is leading the fight against scam PACs.

We’ve gone after bad actors this election cycle, reporting them as they pop up and even sending a cease and desist letter to a top offender.

But our work isn't done. We also want to make sure you know how to ensure that your generous contributions are really going to us.

The best way to tell? On any link we raise money through, you’ll see these words above the buttons: “Your contribution will benefit The Democratic National Committee (DNC).”

You can see that here: [link removed]

Thank you for reading this. If you ever have a question or concern about a scam PAC, please let us know at [email protected].

And, if you want to give directly to the DNC now — and help us meet our end-of-month goal of $600,000 from grassroots supporters — you can do so here:

Thank you,

The Democrats
