Dear Friend,
When the FCC repealed net neutrality, it opened the door for ISPs to
create an internet slow lane for people like you and me.
Now internet slow lanes have arrived — and you're likely already on
one.<s/trong>
Newly uncovered data shows that the four major telecom giants — AT&T,
Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile — are all throttling speeds on video
services such as Netflix and YouTube.^1
This is just the beginning of the future of the internet without net
neutrality. We're going all-out to pass the Save the Internet Act in the
Senate, and we need your help.

neutrality?
Researchers at Northwest University caught AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and
T-Mobile red-handed knocking video speeds down to 480p. It's just one
example of the growing mountain of evidence proving Big Telecom has abused
net neutrality since Trump's FCC chair Ajit Pai pushed through the repeal.
AT&T is pushing customers to its own DirecTV service by imposing data caps
on competing services like Netflix.^2 Sprint throttled Skype to drive
customers to its own voice and video service.^3
Soon, without net neutrality, just a few companies will own the entire
loop from content creation to delivery and back again — controlling what
we see and do online and charging us whatever they'd like in the process.
But there's still time to save the free and open internet.
First, Demand Progress is pressuring Senate Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell to hold a vote on the Save the Internet Act. The bill has
already passed the House, and a bipartisan majority in the Senate voted to
restore net neutrality just last year.
Second, we're preparing for the federal courts to hand down a critical
decision on Pai's net neutrality repeal. If a positive ruling is made,
we'll need a gigantic rapid response to capitalize on it right away.
Finally, we're demanding that every presidential candidate to pledge to
uphold net neutrality if elected.
We're going all-in to save net neutrality. Will you rush a donation to
Demand Progress and help stop Big Telecom's internet slow lanes?
[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll donate to save net neutrality.
Thanks for standing with us.
Robert Cruickshank,
Demand Progress
