Hey John --
I won't deny it: I cried on Tuesday..
It was a powerful moment to hear that Joe Biden had selected Kamala Harris as his running mate. For the first time, a woman of color is our vice presidential nominee. And a fellow Californian to boot.
I couldn't be happier. Kamala Harris is a dear friend of mine, who I have had the immense privilege of working with to advocate for families and children across California.
When Kamala endorsed me back in the special election, she spoke to our team about the importance of reminding people of their power in our democracy and making sure their voices are heard at every level. To this day, her words still resonate with me as we build and fuel our movement to flip CA-25 in November.
Kamala's had my back -- now we need to have hers. There's going to be plenty of negative attacks coming her way, so let's make sure we drown it out by showing our support for her early and often.
