VISITING LUBBOCK

AND EL PASO TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON COVID-19 IN THESE REGIONS

Today I met with local leaders in Lubbock and El Paso to discuss their ongoing response to COVID-19.

The State of Texas has surged a variety of resources, including robust testing, to both of these regions to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect public health.

I commend Texans in these communities for their collective efforts to keep their families, friends, and fellow Texans safe during this time. Working together, Texas will overcome this challenge.

On Tuesday, I visited Beaumont

and Victoria

to discuss Texas' continued efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.

We have seen a recent decline in positive cases in these two cities. This is due in part to Texans following best practices that help reduce the spread of COVID-19. These include washing your hands, social distancing, and wearing a mask.

Texans should remain vigilant during this time to protect their health and the health of their loved ones.
