John,

In the last few weeks volunteering on college campuses I’ve been
approached by young conservative men who want to talk about what’s
happening in the country and how they’re thinking about the upcoming
midterm election.

In Edinburg, Texas a young man told me that although he’s conservative, he
doesn’t support Trump’s war of choice in Iran. He wonders what happened to
putting America first. [ [link removed] ]You can watch part of my conversation with him

In Arlington, I met a young man who wanted to tell me that he had always
considered himself opposed to me and to Democrats generally but that in
the past year he’s come to realize that we represented a better future for
him than Trump and the MAGA movement. He said that he grew up in a
conservative home and now that he was thinking for himself “I want to be
part of a movement that cares about people and chooses kindness over
cruelty.” He also mentioned he’d had enough of the corruption from the
current administration.

And in El Paso we met a student who said he’d voted for Trump in 2024
“because of crypto” and America First rhetoric but now regretted his
decision. He said that Trump hadn’t followed through on his promises and
that he’s increasingly open to voting for Democrats.

In all three cases, we were able to register or confirm the registration
of these young voters after having conversations that focused on dialog
instead of judgement. And we will personally stay in touch with them
throughout this election season, as we do with tens of thousands of other
young voters, to make it more likely that they vote and that they vote for
change.

It’s the same approach we take with true-Blue voters, independents and
anyone else who wants something better for this country and is willing to
vote for it. We need 'em all!

By being open to everyone and writing no one off, we have a chance to help
Democrats win historic victories in Texas in 2026.

next six months, one conversation at a time!
