Friend,
Congress is trying to cut unemployment
benefits during a time when more than half of all Americans are out of
a job. This is NOT OKAY. We must act now so that people in our
community get the help they need to stay in their homes and put food
on their tables as they weather this pandemic.
No one should have to wait months to receive unemployment pay.
States have rainy day funds and we demand that state leadership use
these to pay out their backed-up unemployment.
There is NO excuse for state leadership to sit on millions
of dollars while there are people who have been waiting months for
their unemployment money.
Likewise, we must extend the federal stay on evictions. No
one should lose their home during a pandemic (OR EVER).
