Mitch McConnell: A senator parroting Pelosi and Schumer won't get it done for Kentucky
My opponent’s entire campaign message is derived in Washington by a committed group of left-wing liberals eager to eliminate Kentucky’s voice, and influence, from the national dialogue. This pandemic has required a serious response, and under my leadership, the Senate reacted seriously by passing the biggest economic rescue package in U.S. history. The CARES Act immediately helped the struggling small businesses, hospitals and brave front line workers and families struggling to make ends meet. This rescue package secured critical funds for testing, schools of all levels and state and local governments. In Kentucky, the CARES Act has made a more than $12 billion impact, saving thousands of small business jobs and ensuring Kentucky did not see a budget deficit this year.

Amy McGrath’s spurious claim that McConnell ‘made millions from China’
“Oh, and Mitch made millions from China.” — Campaign ad from Amy McGrath, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Kentucky.
We’ve given these ads Three Pinocchios before and will do so again. McConnell became rich because he married into a wealthy family with a profitable business. Specifically, his wife, Elaine Chao, received an inheritance from her mother. Kevin Golden, McConnell’s campaign manager, called the ad racist. “Could anyone imagine this ad running in an election if Elaine Chao was born in Europe?” Golden said. “This is a despicable attack on Senator McConnell’s wife whose family fled communism, earned their success through relentless hard work, and have lived the definition of the American dream.”
