Axios reported that the president wants to nuke hurricanes in order to stop them from reaching land.
During a briefing on hurricanes, our very smart president said, “I got it. I got it. Why don’t we nuke them?”
He continued to explain his idea, “They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they’re moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?”
For one, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the government agency responsible for predicting changes in weather and the oceans) says that dropping a nuclear bomb on a hurricane might not even alter the storm, but it would release radioactive fallout into the water that would cause “devastating environmental problems.”
They concluded that, “This is not a good idea.” But today, we want to hear from you:
