Friend – Senator Kamala Harris is a fearless and proven champion for American families and the rule of law, and I’m thrilled to support her as America’s next vice president.

As Joe Biden has rightly said, we are in a battle for the soul of our nation – a battle in which the current occupant of the White House has corrupted our democratic norms and institutions, where the wealthy and privileged have gotten ahead while everyday working Americans have fallen behind.

Senator Harris is one of this country’s greatest fighters and among the most exceptional of public servants. She’s fought for families and children. She’s fought for our immigrant communities. She’s fought for gun safety and affordable health care. And now, I know she’ll fight like hell to defeat President Trump and safeguard the very soul of our nation.

This is one powerhouse of a ticket, friend – and we can finally write a chapter of history that should have been written long before now: We can make a woman – a Black, Asian American woman – the vice president of the United States. The strength of this campaign and the glass ceilings it will shatter can’t be overstated. It matters so much, not just in taking back the White House, but in everything we do: In defending our House majority, in taking back the Senate, in protecting the future of our Supreme Court.

So when it comes to the 2020 elections, up and down the ballot, our strength is in unity. In being all in. My parents taught me a lot of lessons, but a few stand out. They taught me that I should treat others as I would want to be treated. They taught me that honesty and integrity matter.

President Trump cheated his way into his office, and he hasn’t stopped from day one of his administration. He’s trampled on the Constitution and ignored the rule of law, while personifying the absolute worst of humanity.

But Joe Biden and Kamala Harris? They are humanity at our best. They lead with compassion and fairness. They have an overwhelming sense of duty. They are determined to make real progress for our country.

But that progress is fueled by people like you – folks who dig deep, get involved and fight hard. So with 82 days until the election, it’s imperative that I know you’re in this with me. We have to do everything in our power to ensure that on Jan. 20, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as president and vice president of the United States.
