The radical Chicago Teachers Union is at it again, and this time, they’re threatening to walk out on our kids on May 1st so they can engage in liberal politics on taxpayers’ dime. What’s worse: they’re trying to guilt Chicago’s students into skipping class with them.

We’ve seen this playbook before. While our students are still struggling to recover from years of learning loss, the CTU leadership is prioritizing political grandstanding over the education of Chicago’s children. This is an attack on Chicago’s students and working families who rely on our schools to be open, safe, and focused on academics.

The Illinois Republican Party is standing up for parents and students. We believe that schools should be for learning, not for political leverage.

Will you stand with us? We need to send a clear, undeniable message to the CTU and the city’s leadership that Chicago’s kids belong in the classroom on May 1st—and every school day.
