This is heartbreaking—

In less than a week, two communities in Louisiana have been devastated by
senseless gun violence.

In Baton Rouge, families are once again waiting in fear for answers after
1 person was shot and killed and 5 others were wounded yesterday at the
Mall of Louisiana. And just days ago in Shreveport, a community was
shattered by an act of horrific violence where 8 children were shot and
killed.

There are no words that make moments like this easier to process. The
fear, anger, and heartbreak have become far too familiar across the
country.

This isn't normal, and it isn't something we should ever accept.

We won't accept a reality where no one feels safe. No one should have to
fear for their life in the places we live, shop, or gather.

But as long as our leaders refuse to act, this violence will continue, and
more families will pay the price with their lives.

In times like these, it's easy to feel powerless. But change is possible —
especially when we come together.

Everytown is working to end gun violence and save lives. Because of
supporters like you, this movement has taken on the gun lobby — and won —
at the ballot box, in state legislatures, and in communities across the
country.
