John, MAGA Mayes Middleton is confused. I’m not.
Middleton thinks that the Texas AG should “use every resource and tool to advance [President Trump’s] conservative agenda.”
That’s not the job, Mayes. The Texas AG is not a presidential appointee or employee or servant or lackey. The job of an attorney general is not and has never been to advance any president’s agenda.
Middleton also believes the “number one” goal of this office is to “defeat the Left.”

The job of the Attorney General is not to defeat the Left or impose a far right radical agenda, or anybody’s agenda.
It is:
→ to root out corruption.
→ to protect individual rights.
→ to block federal overreach.
→ to assist in public safety.
→ to ensure fair and honest markets.
→ to protect consumers from predatory business practices.
→ to uphold the rule of law in the private sector and in the public sector.
→ to act as a check on the abuse of power.
Middleton doesn’t understand the job. I do.
As your Attorney General, I will serve as a constitutional check on the abuse of power, uphold the law, protect your rights, and serve the people of Texas.
This office can be powerfully good under the right leadership.
If you want an Attorney General who understands the job and will do it right, chip in any amount to help us build this campaign. [[link removed]]
