Your Guide to Voting Safely in November 📨

Please note that the information in this email pertains to voting in Ohio. Voters from other states can access their voting information at vote.org.

Dear Neighbors,

Election Day 2020 is rapidly approaching. We are just 81 days away. Ohioans will have many decisions to make on the ballot this year—from levies to elected officials, voting down the ballot will have a significant impact. Your vote is your voice and there are several steps to take to ensure that your voice is heard on November 3rd.

Voter registration can be checked by visiting VoteOhio.gov. By using your first name, last name, and county of residence, you can find details about your voting registration, your voting precinct and polling location for in-person voting. If you are registering to vote for the first time or updating a voter registration address, this can be done via VoteOhio.gov as well.

Voter registration or updates must be completed no later than 30 days prior to an election—the deadline for the 2020 General Election is Monday, October 5th, 2020.

As we continue to navigate COVID-19 and public health, many Ohioans will have questions and concerns about Election Day lines and in-person voting. All Ohioans with up-to-date voter registrations may cast their ballots from their homes through the absentee voting process.

Sample absentee ballot application.

There are three ways to request an application for an absentee ballot:

1. Go to http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov/Absentee-Ballot-Request to download the absentee ballot request form.

2. Call the Franklin County Board of Elections at 614-525-3100 to request an application be mailed to you through their automated system.

3. Send a letter with the following information:
Name
Residential address
Mailing address (if different)
Date of birth
Identification (Driver’s license number, Last four Social Security digits, or copy of a utility bill)
A short statement that says “I am a qualified voter requesting a ballot for the November 3, 2020 election.”
Which party ballot you want (Democratic, Republican, Independent, or just the Issues)
Signature
Date Signed

Voters who apply to vote by mail must return their signed application to the Franklin County Board of Elections Absentee Department.

The correct application for vote by mail applications is:

Mailing my absentee ballot application on July 28, 2020

Once you complete your application request, your ballot will be mailed out in early October. Return the ballot with two postage stamps or drop it off to the Franklin County Board of Elections location at 1700 Morse Road, Columbus, OH 43229 by Election Day.
