Hezbollah keeps killing, the Iranians are grieving, and Rep. Massie keeps getting it wrong.
Shots Fired
After Hezbollah killed a French peacekeeper earlier this week in Lebanon, Senators Roger Wicker (R-MS), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee and James Risch, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee tee’d off on the failures of the US-backed Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).
With Sen. Wicker firing the first shot on X, Sen. Risch noted in a post online, “Well past time for the LAF to take tangible action to fully disarm Hezbollah & for the Lebanese government to follow through on long-promised economic reform. The era of complacency & unconditional bailouts must come to an end.”
We agree with both distinguished gentlemen. Meanwhile on the ground, Hezbollah remains a terrorist army bent on Israel’s destruction. While the Aoun regime seems to be desperate for time, that’s in the shortest supply these days.
Mr. President, if we may, disarm Hezbollah; anytime yesterday would be great.
Standoff in the Strait
While the Regime’s remnant try to figure out who the regime is, President Trump continues to follow a fairly straightforward playbook associated with a high stakes naval blockade. Here’s the thing the media won’t tell you: how you implement the blockade is as important as what you’re blockading (like our mother’s taught us).
Speaking of life lessons, let’s talk about the stages of grief. We hate the regime. They’re evil. But they’re also made up of human beings just like the rest of us. And they’ve lost something they spent a lifetime being told was theirs for the stealing.
As we know, people experience grief differently. The disarray you see in the regime’s ranks is indeed related to power, but’s also related to denial, and bargaining, and perhaps one day (for some), acceptance. But given that the “leaders” are all in varying states of grief or decay, it’s hard to find the right people to go meet with the Vice President of the United States in Islamabad.
Getting messy for Massie
Rep. Tom Massie has been a perennial contrarian for his entire political career. Contrary to the above, sometimes it’s what you say. And what Rep. Massie has to say about Iran, Israel, and the things we care about is unacceptable.
That’s why your friendly Action Fund has purchased every available billboard in the wayward Congressman’s Congressional District reminding him… well you’ve really got to see it:
