* through our taxes, as world governments continue to subsidize them;
* through our bills, as prices spike with every crisis;
* through climate damage, as disasters hit homes, livelihoods, and
public budgets.

This isn’t just inflation. It’s the cost of staying locked into a system
that benefits a wealthy few, while the majority of us pay.

That system costs around $12 trillion globally every year, and out of
every dollar of subsidies that are supposed to help people around the
world, only 8 cents actually reaches the poorest households.^2

Every message adds to the pressure Congress can’t ignore. By sending the
