Hi John,
Happy Earth Week! I hope, like me, you are enjoying these first spring weeks. I love waking up to the birds chirping, seeing the magnolia blooming outside my window, and getting my hands in the dirt to start planting my garden.
However, it has also been a hard spring. Communities across the state are dealing with the devastation caused by the severe flooding, hail, and tornadoes that damaged homes and neighborhoods. President Trump and Congressional Republicans voted to allow mining in the Boundary Waters, putting those treasured waters at risk. The news out of the White House seems to get worse every day, reminding us how important our work is at the state level in the year ahead. We need to win elections to secure a backstop against this destructive administration.
But it’s not all bad news! Just this month we had two big wins. We successfully passed the PFAS funding law that finally releases $132 million in much-needed relief for communities, and we helped elect Judge Chris Taylor to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, who we know will make decisions that protect our environment and voting rights.
Now, we are turning our attention to electing pro-conservation and pro-democracy candidates in the fall election so that we can pass powerful and transformative policies in the next legislative session.
Rising utility bills, clean energy, safe drinking water, and fair access to the ballot are at the top of everyone’s minds and we need conservation voters like you to make sure candidates take these issues seriously and voters elect the leaders this fall who will fight for these concerns.
Now is the time to get involved. We can’t do this without you. Scroll down for ways to get tapped in, whether that’s coming to one of our regional events [[link removed]], sponsoring our Big Green Wave event [[link removed]], or becoming a monthly sustainer [[link removed]] to support our work.

$132 million passed to support PFAS contamination!
Gov. Tony Evers officially signed the PFAS funding bill into law. Because you refused to back down, $132 million in long-awaited and much-needed relief is now unlocked. This victory includes $80 million for community water systems and $35 million specifically for private well owners who have been living on bottled water for far too long.

Judge Chris Taylor elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court!
On April 7, Wisconsin sent a powerful message by electing Judge Chris Taylor to the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. It was a resounding landslide, with Judge Taylor winning by a 20-point margin (60 percent to 40 percent), nearly doubling the margins of other recent judicial victories. You stepped up with nearly 400 volunteer shifts, helping us send more than 20,000 postcards to voters. A big thanks to all the amazing volunteers!
