The people of Louisiana have had enough of the authoritarian overreaches by Republican Governor Jeff Landry and his MAGA cronies in the state legislature.
They think they can rewrite the rules. Erase the will of the people. Silence Black communities. Ignore rural farmers. Squeeze out working families. All to rig the system for themselves.
But they’ve never been so wrong. The backlash is growing, from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, Shreveport to Sabine Parish, Lafayette to the bayou — Louisianans are saying the same thing: Enough is enough.
My name is Dadrius Lanus. I am the Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party. And I’m here to say: We’re taking this state back.
We just launched Organize Louisiana, the most ambitious statewide organizing program in the history of this state. Boots on the ground in all 4,000-plus precincts across this state. For the first time in decades, we are contesting every single federal seat MAGA currently occupies.
But the fact remains, we are still one of the least funded state parties in the entire nation. If we’re going to make a comeback, we need the support of Democrats everywhere. That’s why I am asking you today:
