I taught international commercial law at what is now Texas A&M International University. And what I learned in that classroom has stayed with me ever since: facts matter, preparation matters, and real-world solutions matter.
Later, as a small business owner and attorney, I saw firsthand how government decisions impact people’s daily lives — whether it’s a family trying to make ends meet or a business trying to grow and create jobs.
That’s what led me to public service.
From the Texas Legislature to serving as Texas Secretary of State, and now in Congress, I’ve always taken a practical approach: focus on what works, bring people together, and deliver results that actually help people.
That’s also why I’ve worked across party lines — because progress doesn’t come from shouting past each other. It comes from doing the hard work of finding solutions.
Today, that approach is more important than ever.
There’s a lot of noise in Washington. A lot of division. But the people I represent aren’t asking for more politics — they’re asking for progress.
They want safer communities. Better jobs. Strong schools. Affordable healthcare. And a government that works.
That’s what I’m focused on every day.
If you believe in that kind of leadership — steady, thoughtful, and focused on results — I hope you’ll support our campaign today. Your contribution helps us continue doing the work that matters most. [[link removed]?]
