A study
[[link removed]] published this week in the journal Environmental Research supports previous
research showing that an organic diet is an effective way to reduce the burden
of glyphosate in your body.

Reporting
[[link removed]] on the study for U.S. Right to Know, Carey Gillam writes:

“Notably, the researchers found that the children in the study had much higher
levels of glyphosate in their urine than did the adults. Both adults and
children saw large drops in the presence of the pesticide following the diet
change.”

The study’s release coincided with a report
[[link removed]] last week by Michelle Perro, executive director GMOScience, highlighting the
impact of glyphosate exposure on the body’s immune system. Perro wrote:

“Considering the fact that the average daily diet of most Americans is abundant
in glyphosate as well as other pesticides and nutrient deficient (from soil
depletion), one can appreciate that chronic dosing of glyphosate will result in
an underperforming immune system which is unable to meet the challenges of
modern day infections.”

Those “modern day infections” Perro refers to include, of course, COVID-19

Though U.S. regulatory agencies steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the science,
glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto/Bayer’s Roundup weedkiller
[[link removed]] , is linked to a host of human illnesses, including cancer, liver and kidney
disease and chronic gastrointestinal disease.

And new studies
[[link removed]] highlight once again, the link between glyphosate exposure and infertility.

We can’t stop pushing for a ban on glyphosate. But until we get it, your best
line of defense is to make sure you, and your kids, eat organic.

Last week, we launched our Gain of Function Hall of Shame

(Potential Pandemic Pathogen Care and Oversight). The P3CO is tasked with

This week, we bring you Christian Hassell’s boss, Robert Kadlec.

Kadlec's title
[[link removed]] is Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR) for the U.S.
Department of Health & Human Services. In that role, Kadlec oversees a
multi-billion-dollar stockpile of medical countermeasures to "defend" the
American people against any biological threat, whether military, criminal,
natural or accidental.

The stockpile overseen by Kadlec used to be housed by the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control. But Kadlec fought

In a normal year, this would mean Kadlec managing a budget of more than $2 billion
[[link removed]] . But with COVID-19
[[link removed]] this year, Kadlec is spending $11.5 billion
[[link removed]] just on companies’ efforts to develop, manufacture, store and deliver new
vaccines.

Kadlec’s responsibilities don’t end with his role at HHS. He also plays a big
role in overseeing all federal biodefense activities and budgets. And he has a
long track record of doling out big contracts to his buddies in the vaccine
industry.

The director of the International Center for Technology Assessment (ICTA)
[[link removed]] has joined the call for a thorough investigation into the origins of COVID-19
[[link removed]] .

In an interview
[[link removed]] with Corporate Crime Reporter (CCR), Andrew Kimbrell said he rejects the idea
that he and others who believe the virus originated in the Wuhan lab are
conspiracy theorists. Kimbrell told CCR:

“This whole gain of threat research
[[link removed]] , there are many reputable scientists now saying – it gives you no information,
it’s not useful for vaccines, it’s not useful for anything except for the
curiosity and interest of this small group of scientists who do this research.”

The statement issued by ICTA calls for a moratorium on gain-of-function
[[link removed]] research, in part because:

“Gain of Function/Gain of Threat research to create novel pandemic viruses is
now being practiced in laboratories around the globe mostly in secret, and no
doubt, some of this research involves bioweapons research. This research now
includes synthetic biology, synthetic virology, gene editing and other cutting
edge technologies. It is difficult to fully and accurately assess the risk to
public health from this research.”

Kimbrell said that because in the aftermath of COVID-19, billions are earmarked
for coronavirus research, there is the “real possibility that a significant
portion of these funds will be spent on this dangerous research which would
increase the risk of future pandemics rather than lessen that threat.”

Champion Petfood [[link removed]] , which sells pet food under the Orijen and Acana brand names, claims some of
its pet foods contain “free-run” chicken.

In fact, Champion sources its chicken from industrial factory farms, where
chickens not only don’t have “free-run” privileges—they’re actually crammed by
the tens of thousands into windowless buildings. During their short lives, they
never set foot outdoors.

Champion’s pet food brands make other false marketing statements, including this
one on the Acana website:

“Raised under the highest standards for animal care and food safety by people we
know and trust, on family-run American farms, our free-run poultry and cage-free
eggs are nourishing, natural, and antibiotic free.”

In fact, that farmer depicted on the website, whom Champion purportedly “knows
and trusts” as Todd of Clark Farms? He’s actually Greg Hefton, a contract grower
for Tyson Foods—the largest industrial poultry producer in the U.S.

We know your pets don’t read labels and websites. But you do. And we think pet
food makers shouldn’t be allowed to make false and misleading statements.

So this week, on behalf of you, your pets and truth and transparency in
labeling, we sued Champion.
