I’ve testified before Congress before, but this one felt different.

Because I wasn’t just speaking as Minnesota’s Secretary of State.

I was defending a system that works. One that I’ve proudly helped to build and protect during my time as Secretary of State.

Both would disrupt systems that already work.

And both risk undermining the very participation we should be encouraging.

This is bigger than one state.

It’s about whether we move forward or backward as a country when it comes to voting rights.
