The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s Office of Climate and Energy is presenting this webinar series [ [link removed] ] to highlight opportunities to take action, as well as highlight actions taking place around the state to implement the goals in the MI Healthy Climate Plan [ [link removed] ]. Join us as we discuss specific actions and upcoming programs and opportunities designed to help leverage resources, build partnerships, and create meaningful and measurable steps to reach our goals of 100% carbon neutrality by 2050 in Michigan. A question-and-answer period will follow each presentation. All webinars will be recorded and posted online for future viewing.

MI Healthy Climate Challenge #4: Go Big, Go Clean [ [link removed] ]

Join us for an overview of the MI Healthy Climate Challenge #4: Go Big, Go Clean, the fourth grant program of the MI Healthy Climate Challenge series. Challenge #4 supports* feasibility studies *that help Michigan industries evaluate practical near-term decarbonization interventions while also identifying the technologies, conditions, and support needed to achieve deeper emissions reductions over time. If you work in Michigan's industrial sector or nonprofits, universities, research institutions, solution providers, and technical or consulting firms that may consider applying in partnership with a Michigan industrial facility, you should attend this webinar. 

The program is designed not only to inform facility-level decisions, but also to help the State of Michigan understand what will be required to accelerate decarbonization across Michigan’s industrial sectors. In addition to highlighting what is feasible today, studies should help clarify what is not yet feasible, what is missing, and what role the state and other partners can play in expediting progress towards industrial decarbonization. 

*The Letter of Intent to apply is due Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 11:59 PM EST*.
This step is intended to provide the State with a preliminary understanding of the concept and its alignment with the goals of the program, while minimizing applicant burden at the outset.

*More about the MI Healthy Climate Challenge*

The MI Healthy Climate Challenge grant program is a series of targeted "Challenges" designed to address key barriers to deploying clean energy projects across Michigan. Each Challenge focuses on a specific obstacle to climate action, unlocking opportunities to secure public and private funding and drive transformative, on-the-ground impact. Together, these efforts will help ensure Michigan remains a leader in the clean energy transition.  

All funded proposals will advance Michigan’s goal of achieving 100% carbon neutrality by 2050, including 52 percent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from 2005 by 2030, as set forth in the MI Healthy Climate Plan. Proposals should align with the Plan’s key priorities, which guide Michigan’s decarbonization goals and aim to deliver meaningful benefits to communities.
