Speak out for sustainable transport
Hello
I hope you're well.
I wrote to you last month about the consultation that the Government is running to gather people's views on how carbon emissions from transport can be reduced. Almost 2,000 people followed the links in my last email to respond to the consultation or find out more about it, which is great news. And almost 200 people got in touch via our form to tell us that they responded, for which I'm very grateful: this really helps us to show that there's a strong movement speaking out for sustainable transport.
Many of the people who got in touch gave us a taste of what they'd said in their responses: people like Zina, whose comment you can see above, Ian, who called for "More travel passes for the young and old", and Alistair, who commented, "Our town is lucky to have a covered, staffed bus station; more towns should have these."
Perhaps you agree with Zina, Ian or Alistair, or have your own ideas about how transport can reduce its carbon footprint. In any case, please respond to the consultation if you haven't already. If you'd like some suggestions for things to say, our blog has plenty. And when you've responded, it would be great if you could let us know via our very short form.
This consultation is such an important opportunity to speak out for sustainable transport, and it closes at the end of this month, so please take the chance to have your say.
Thank you.
Darren
