John,
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are not taking a salary for their work in the White House, which is good because they have no discernible qualifications for their roles, and appear to have been hired purely based on nepotism.
But even though Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump aren’t taking a salary, they are still making a lot of money from their family businesses — between $36 million and $157 million last year alone.
CREW obtained the couple’s financial disclosure reports from the White House, which provides some limited information about their income, mostly in large ranges, and without many details about where the income is coming from. Here are some things we learned:
Ivanka Trump reported almost $4 million in income from the Trump International Hotel in DC, which has become a hot spot for influence peddling in the Trump administration.
She also made between $100,000 and $1 million from the trust that holds her fashion brand, which is very odd, because she claims the brand closed down in July 2018.
Jared Kushner raked in up to $3 million from programs that benefited from Trump administration actions, and up to $1 million more in rent from firms that later received Coronavirus-related small business loans.
Kushner’s stake in a real estate start-up called Cadre held steady at $25 — $50 million. That’s a problem, because the White House Ethics office told Kushner months ago that his stake posed a conflict of interest that would make it hard for him to do his job. He has still not divested.

The corruption of the Trump family is the story of the Trump administration. After three and a half years, we can say that definitively. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have been among the worst offenders, between Ivanka Trump’s foreign trademarks and Jared Kushner’s blatant business conflicts.
We simply can’t stay silent when we see corruption like that. Join us in holding Jared Kushner’s and Ivanka Trump’s feet to the fire by sharing CREW’s reporting, until their disturbing corruption comes to an end.
