Every day, we’re finding new ways to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m happy to share that last week, Virginia became the first state in the country to implement a free COVID-19 exposure notification app called COVIDWISE. It’s available to Virginia residents and allows our phones to help in the COVID fight.
COVIDWISE was created with both public health and public trust in mind. It’s easy to use, protects your privacy, and helps secure the health and safety of our communities. No location data or personal information is ever collected, stored, or transmitted via COVIDWISE.
Of course, the use of the app is voluntary, and can be deleted at any time. But it only works if we all use it. Here’s how you can help:
1. Visit the App Store or Google Play Store, and download COVIDWISE.
2. Share information about COVIDWISE with your friends, colleagues, and family members.
3. Post and share your support on social media.
With this app, Virginia is leading the way forward during the most pressing public health crisis of our lifetimes. Our goal is to reduce the risk for your friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues and to help Virginia stay safe and healthy.
