DHS Honors Wisconsin Health Care Providers with the BigShot Awards

" For the tenth year, providers recognized for protecting children’s health through vaccination "

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has announced its annual BigShot awardees, celebrating 162 Wisconsin health care providers who are committed to protecting children’s health by ensuring they are up to date on childhood vaccinations that prevent serious diseases such as measles, pertussis, meningitis, and HPV.

"We are pleased to recognize the crucial work of these vaccinators in supporting the health of Wisconsin’s children,” said Wisconsin Immunization Program Director Stephanie Schauer. “This is an important achievement, especially as we continue to see childhood vaccinations declining [ [link removed] ] in Wisconsin and a resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases, like measles.”

This is the tenth year of the annual BigShot awards, which are part of DHS’ work to respond to health needs statewide by supporting programs and services that protect the health of entire communities.
