MOSES ID
Application Tips

Make sure the name on your application matches your existing record, including nicknames, apostrophes or hyphens, and maiden name changes. (Example above shows John Doe applying as Johnny Doe, and therefore no bonus points show).

If you apply and find your bonus points are missing, that means the name on the application and the name of your existing Maine Online Sportsperson’s Electronic System (MOSES) ID didn't match. If your bonus points are incorrect or missing, continue to complete the application and then use this online form [ [link removed] ] to request a review.

WMDs
Attention Non-residents

Resident and non-resident permits are allocated separately, and the drawings are conducted independently. No more than 8% of permits may be issued to non-residents. A state law requires that a portion of permits (up to 2%) is also allocated to hunting lodges. Because permits for hunting lodges are distributed by Wildlife Management District (WMD), this can result in some districts having no permits available to non-residents during some moose hunting weeks. *Non-residents, before beginning your application, please be sure to view the 2026 Season Dates and Permit Allocations table [ [link removed] ] to plan which WMDs you want to select*.
