Thank you for your continuous and faithful partnership with the ministry of Unto. Your prayers and support sustain us as we work to serve people in the toughest places by providing aid and the hope of Jesus.

I want to take a moment to remind you that, although the world may feel uncertain, we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus is in control of it all. When life feels overwhelming, I try to remember what Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When we are weary and burdened, Jesus invites us to seek Him for rest. He gently reminds us that, because His yoke is easy and His burden is light, we can give Him all of our worries.

One of the ways through which we cast our burdens onto him is in prayer. Next Tuesday, April 28, is the semi-annual Cru® Worldwide Day of Prayer. Twice a year, Cru staff all around the world purposefully set aside time to pray — for Cru’s ministry as a whole, upcoming ministry projects and for each other.

Speaking of rest and prayer, I have a personal prayer request that I’d like to share with you. My wife, Susan, and I will be taking the next three months for a sabbatical. After 26 years in ministry, this is our first sabbatical.

We look forward to focusing more on personal ministry efforts, as well as connecting with the Lord as we reflect on everything He has done over the past 26 years of ministry.

As we step away for the next few months, will you pray for us?

Although I may be taking some time away, Unto’s work will continue — the ministry is in excellent hands, and I would like to invite you to pray for all of the upcoming projects moving forward in the months ahead.

Ministry Prayer Requests

College students from all across the country will be traveling this summer to Southeast Asia, Malawi and Colombia to host vision clinics, agriculture workshops and women’s health workshops. Please pray that God would meet needs as they share the love of Jesus with each person they meet.
Please pray for the June Mission Packing Project at the Unto Global Logistics Center, where volunteers gather to pack thousands of supplies that will be used to serve people living in the toughest places. We are excited to see what the Lord will do!
We are preparing for a matching gift campaign for World Refugee Day coming up on June 20! Please pray that many would join us in meeting the match and raising awareness of this day with their friends, family and loved ones. While I am away, you will still get some emails from me — I have prepared them before leaving, and should you have any questions and reply, someone from my team will respond. You may also receive emails from some of my colleagues within the ministry — I hope you will read and pray over them, and consider responding however the Lord leads you to!
