This is my promise to you, team: I will always fight for bold, transformational change that supports families and working people. This COVID-19 crisis does not change that — it highlights it.

But over the weekend — at a private country club no less — Donald Trump did nothing more than a bad publicity stunt by signing executive orders that don’t actually get relief to people during this devastating crisis. The situation has not been much better in the Senate, where Republicans have still not passed a package that provides real relief to people and businesses or even extends the $600-a-week of expanded unemployment assistance.

I am continuing to fight to ensure that more people get more relief across the country so they can withstand this crisis during these dire circumstances. I am fighting to expand the $600-a-week of additional unemployment benefits, extend eviction moratoriums, cancel rent and mortgages, issue recurring stimulus checks, send real relief directly to businesses of all sizes including small and minority-owned businesses, and invest robust funding into testing and contact tracing.
