Friend,
Last night, a conspiracy theorist, racist, and anti-Semite named Marjorie Taylor Greene became the Republican nominee for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. She has a clear path to win the general election, which means that Georgia will have a far-right extremist representing them in Congress.
What's more? When Carolyn Bourdeaux stood up to her anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, Marjorie Taylor Greene attacked her on Twitter, saying "how dare Carolyn" hold her accountable for her words.
And Carolyn's opponent in this district, Rich McCormick, is using that same dangerous playbook.
He is no stranger to extremism himself, having peddled racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on far-right YouTube channels repeatedly over the course of his campaign. Meanwhile, his wife donated the maximum amount of money allowed by law to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s campaign.
We don’t need anyone who will promote debunked racist and anti-Semitic conspiracies to represent us in Congress. Unfortunately, it appears as though one person is likely to head to Congress on that platform -- so it’s up to us to ensure that Rich McCormick doesn’t join her.
Carolyn Bourdeaux is a working mother whose family is facing the same challenges as many people in our community. She's running for Congress to bring real leadership to GA-07, not hatred and lies. Last night, she released the following statement on her own race and Marjorie Taylor Greene’s win:
"Rich McCormick and Marjorie Taylor Greene are cut from the same cloth. Georgians don't need two far-right extremists in Congress. This November, Rich McCormick will have to answer for his party’s bigoted, anti-Semitic rhetoric at the ballot box. Georgians deserve a leader who will bring people together to get us through this crisis — not someone who parrots dangerous conspiracy theories."
This much is clear, friend:
Rich McCormick is not that leader.
Carolyn Bourdeaux is.
And that is why we need her in Congress.
