The U.S. Postal Service, an absolutely essential service, is in danger.
Trump’s appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has shown a complete lack of leadership, only pushing for Trump’s agenda to attack and privatize the USPS.
Having no experience in the field, DeJoy’s decisions have led to massive lay-offs, major delivery delays and rampant exposure of the virus to USPS employees leaving employees to be spread thin.
We cannot have a postmaster general who is willing to put the postal system, a system that our country depends on, at risk to follow Trump’s orders.
This year, our postal system holds another responsibility — delivering mail-in ballots. And during a pandemic, it could be the only method for some people to vote.
Dejoy's cuts, in addition to a lack of plans to hire any more employees or fix these issues, putting the entire election at risk. The only way to protect the USPS is to remove this ineffective leadership at the top.
