A.,
Abdul El-Sayed, running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, said the Israeli government is “as evil as Hamas.”
This outrageous comment is beyond the pale and must be rejected. Comparing the democratically elected government of Israel to a genocidal terrorist organization is wrong, offensive, and should have no place in our political discourse.
Hamas is responsible for mass murder, rape, and kidnapping. Their goal is to murder Jews and destroy the Jewish state. Equating Hamas with Israel’s government spreads misinformation and gives oxygen to dangerous, anti-Israel sentiment.
This is exactly why we can’t stay silent.

When rhetoric like this goes unchallenged, it becomes normalized and that has real consequences for America’s alliance with Israel and for the tone of our politics.
We need leaders in Congress who will reject this kind of language and stand firmly for a strong U.S.–Israel relationship.
That only happens if supporters like you step up.
