Wanted to make sure you heard the news, team: Despite being up against more than $6 million in spending from our primary challenger and GOP-funded super PACs, grassroots supporters like you helped our campaign break turnout records and power Ilhan and our movement to victory -- with 57.4% of the vote.

The attack ads and smear campaigns could've worked -- but our movement organized to knock on doors, make tens of thousands of calls, and send thousands of texts to get out the vote and deliver an unprecedented win. As we head into the general election, Republican super PACs will only ramp up their efforts to stoke hatred and division to flip Minnesota red. We have to organize off this momentum to win the general and stop Trump from winning in our state.

Team,

Thanks to this grassroots team, we won our primary.

This win was more than an electoral victory -- we earned a mandate for change. Despite outside efforts to defeat us -- including $6 million in spending from my challenger and GOP super PACs -- our support has only grown.

As I like to say, here in Minnesota, we don't just welcome refugees: We send them to Congress. And the people of Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District chose to send me on to the general election to represent them in Congress. If this primary has shown us anything, it is the lengths that those standing in the way of progress will go to stop a movement that wants to put power back in the hands of people.

We faced a barrage of super PAC campaign ads funded by Republicans in this primary. But the 5th District and our grassroots supporters across the country stood strong -- because we know that organized people beat organized money.

So I promise to continue fighting for justice. I promise to continue to fight for a Green New Deal. I promise to continue to fight for Medicare for All. I promise to continue to fight to break the shackles of student debt. I promise to continue to fight for an America where everyone has a roof over their head and food in their bellies. And I promise to continue to legislate on behalf of the people -- not corporations.

This election is not over yet, team. In the coming months, Donald Trump and his allies will do everything they can to use fear and division to turn Minnesotan against Minnesotan. But we are stronger than hate; we are greater than fear. And we are going to organize to have record turnout in order to defeat Trump and keep Minnesota blue in November.

Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we recommit to our fight for a brighter future for every single person who calls America home.

Thank you again.

Ilhan Omar
