Justice Democrats

John, this is a long but important email. We hope you’ll read to the end.

Last week, Israel carried out its largest airstrike campaign in Lebanon, targeting densely populated residential neighborhoods in broad daylight while Lebanese families were picking up their children from school.

The Israeli government did this right after the U.S. agreed to a ceasefire with Iran, because the truth is, they don’t want this war to end.

Israel has been bombing and bulldozing entire villages in the south of Lebanon, while keeping up its occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Its goal was always clear: colonial annexation.

U.S. leaders, including the Democratic establishment, let Israel get away with bombing and starving Palestinians for two and a half years, conducting genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza with the help of our tax dollars. Now, it’s no surprise they’re applying the same playbook to Lebanon with zero repercussions.

But voters are tired of it. A new nationwide poll reveals that 80% of Democrat and independent voters hold unfavorable views of Israel.

Despite this, the DNC blocked a resolution to condemn the right-wing megadonor-funded Israel lobby group, AIPAC, and we still have Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer claiming his job is to “fight for aid to Israel,” instead of fighting for the people he was elected to serve.

Too many AIPAC-backed Democrats are actively supporting Israel’s war crimes. Many more are silent, while others give weak condemnations as they keep voting to send Israel billions.

The people of this country are making it clear: we demand that the Democratic Party unequivocally oppose any additional military aid and weapons transfers to Israel as long as they continue their genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Justice Democrats have stood on the right side of this since the beginning, from Cori Bush introducing the original Gaza ceasefire resolution to Saikat Chakrabarti taking the next step and calling for sanctions.

These are the kinds of anti-war progressive leaders we can and must elect in the upcoming Democratic primary elections, but as we take on AIPAC and the rest of the corporate-backed establishment, we can’t win without your support.

Please, if you can, pitch in $5 to help us send a dozen anti-AIPAC, pro-peace Justice Democrats to Congress this year to transform the Democratic Party and stop the U.S. from enabling genocide and ethnic cleansing any longer.

If do-nothing Democrats refuse to listen to their constituents and start acting like the anti-war party they should be, we will force them out at the ballot box.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
