Dear Patriot,

This is a crucial time.

The other day, when Congress failed to pass their 18-month “clean” extension of FISA Section 702, it sent shockwaves through the Spy State.

Instead, Congress adjourned at 2:10 a.m. on Friday morning, with just 10 additional days tacked onto Section 702.

As my staff has told you, the next two weeks – up until the April 30 deadline – are some of the most crucial in the history of Campaign for Liberty.

Speaker Mike Johnson is having a tough time corralling Republicans into supporting a long-term extension without more guardrails and protections for Americans.

Most notably, if the government wants to gather our personal information -- including emails, text messages, phone calls, and internet browsing history -- they must have a good reason and GET A WARRANT!

The pending congressional showdown is just around the corner, and you and I have our best chance in years to take a SLEDGEHAMMER to the growing surveillance state in Washington, D.C.

If you and I can stop its reauthorization, the NSA and its spy state pals will LOSE a massive, anti-Fourth Amendment surveillance power the media describes as one of their most treasured “crown jewels!”

Patriot, Section 702 is the part of federal code the Deep State was caught red-handed abusing year after year and time after time.

The Deep State has used these UNCONSTITUTIONAL tactics to try and politically destroy a sitting president and members of Congress.

Do you really think you and I will ever
be safe from these same tactics?

I think you and I both know the answer to that question.

As close as we are to delivering a huge blow to the Spy State, our efforts must intensify now.

And, of course, these battles are never cheap.

Getting the word out to fellow patriots, generating petitions to Congress, keeping supporters updated, sending staff to Capitol Hill, and more.

You’ll be asked to help us again over the next two weeks: putting pressure on Congress through phone calls, emails, and petitions.

I’m also asking you to step up today with a generous donation to help us in this critical effort ([link removed]).

I can’t just fire up the printing presses like the Federal Reserve does and print off a million dollars for our work.

Campaign for Liberty has always relied on the generosity of grassroots patriots like you. We don’t have fat cat lobbyists or billionaire donors to help fund our work.

That’s why I’m counting on you to please make a donation today . . . maybe you can only give $10 or $25. Maybe your means allow you to give $100 or even $500. For others, making that special donation of $1,000 or $2,500 is possible today ([link removed]).

I’m asking you because it’s that important.

Section 702 grants the U.S. government the ability to wiretap without a warrant and collect information on innocent Americans whose communications (in any way) involve a foreign agent who is somehow “of interest.”

I’m not even just talking about picking up the phone and calling a known troublemaker in Yemen.

Under Section 702, even just casually mentioning to a friend the name of a new guy who just moved into your neighborhood could be enough for federal agents to start sweeping up communications on you and your friend!

In fact, this power is so broad, it allows the NSA to start sweeping up communications on virtually anyone if they can claim to connect enough dots!

The good news is we are in perhaps a better position today than we were 10 years ago when you and I forced Section 215 of the so-called “PATRIOT” Act to expire.

Now, many members of Congress are growing very nervous about the enormous power they see the Deep State wielding today.

Of course, many have never before cared about the Fourth Amendment guarantees for average Americans like you and me.

So they’ve voted at every opportunity to hand the American surveillance state spying powers no other government in the history of mankind -- not even the Communist East German Stasi of yesteryear -- has been able to amass on law-abiding citizens.

But now, as they’ve seen the Deep State unabashedly “weaponize” their spying powers for pure political gain, they’re worried about themselves.

In fact, one recent article from a Washington, D.C. insider magazine worried that some Members of Congress are concerned they’ll “get caught up in the same secret government intercepts” as the Trump administration, and they fear “intelligence services could leak information on them too!”

I hate to say, “I told you so. . .”

But it infuriates me to no end that the same politicians who swear on a Bible to uphold the U.S. Constitution -- which still includes the Fourth Amendment -- could be so blind!

I know the statists in Washington, D.C. say, “trust us and everything will be ok.”
But I don’t trust them and neither should you!

Eventhe FISA Court itself -- which normally rubber stamps all surveillance requests -- scolded the government for consistently abusing their power to spy on Americans!

I know the statists’ excuse is “security.”

But regardless of what buzzword they use to defend their assaults on our freedoms, their enemy is ALWAYS the same.

It’s our privacy. Our liberty. Our “greed” in wanting to keep some of the money we’ve rightfully earned.

And even when they succeed in taking from us everything they want, we are still vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

What’s made our country the greatest and freest nation in human history is that our Founding Fathers created a Constitution that limited the power (and therefore the damage) evil men can inflict.

But today, our Constitution’s Fourth Amendment -- which protects American citizens right to privacy from government -- is under assault like never before.

With it, the protections you and I have against the actions of evil men holding the reins of our own government are dropping like flies.

The good news is, as I explained, we CAN win this fight.

But it’s absolutely vital we have the financial resources to take on the statists.

I can promise you that surveillance state apologists are going to do whatever they can to get a long-term reauthorization of Section 702.

That’s why you and I need to do even more.

I can’t do any of this without you.

Patriot, I know asking for $1,000 or $2,500 from good people is a lot. I hope you’re able to give $25 or at least $10 today ([link removed]).

Like you, sometimes I feel like we’re watching the police state nightmare from George Orwell’s 1984 being built all around us.

So won’t you please join me in shouting DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER before it’s too late -- before the idea of American liberty is nothing more than a distant memory?

Thank you for all you do.

For liberty,

Ron Paul
Chairman

P.S. FISA Section 702 -- the section of law statists use to justify the collection of law-abiding American citizens’ phone calls, emails, and internet activity -- is set to expire on April 30.

You and other Campaign for Liberty supporters have generated enough pressure on Congress recently that the best they could do was a 10-day extension.

That means the statists are going to be working very hard over the next 2 weeks to twist every arm they can.

And that’s why you and I MUST turn up enough heat on Congress to stop warrantless 702 reauthorization. I’m convinced we can bring the statists’ domestic spying programs to a crashing halt.
