First off, I'm so humbled by the dedicated donor who generously offered to match all email contributions until tomorrow so that we can get ahead of our mid-month goal deadline this weekend.
As an underdog candidate running to unseat a GOP incumbent who is funded by billionaires, backed by the Trump family, in a red-leading district, it would be an understatement to say that I'm pleased with the recent poll results.
You might be thinking that since we're not in the lead, these poll results are a disappointment. But you have to remember that I'm not taking a single dollar from ANY corporate PACs, unlike Pete Stauber. And he's not just well-funded, but he's also well-connected with friends in high places. These poll numbers are extremely close for someone like Stauber who has all of these advantages. We are so close to being within a one-point margin of error.
What this poll says to me is that the people of MN-08 are ready for change and open to progress. The polling data shows that once people hear about us and what we're fighting for, they're ready to fight alongside us. So while we might not have the cash flow or political connections of Pete Stauber, we do have the grassroots strength and the right campaign message for this district. Now, it's only a matter of getting the message out there.
As a people-powered campaign, we've come this far and polled this closely to a wealthy, powerful, GOP incumbent because of your grassroots support. And if we can gain the resources to extend our voter outreach, we'll soon be just 1 single point behind him.
