Yesterday, Joe Biden officially announced his running mate. And next week, members of the Democratic party from across the country will come together (virtually) to rally behind him, Kamala Harris, and a shared vision of the party's future.

Which is why it's absolutely crucial that the Democratic National Convention takes the opportunity to focus on the climate crisis.

The Biden-Harris ticket has the strongest climate platform of any presidential ticket in American history, with a commitment to a 100% clean electricity standard by 2035, historic clean energy investments to revitalize the economy, and major action on environmental justice to end environmental racism.

And recent Data for Progress polling shows that voters in battleground states like Arizona, Iowa, Maine, and North Carolina would be more likely to support candidates up and down the ballot who demonstrate support for bold climate action.

Climate is a winning issue, and next week's convention is going to be one of the last chances to galvanize the electorate around a just, inclusive, clean-energy vision for the country in the final months before November.

Our work did not end with the presidential primary, it does not end today, and it will not end after the election.
