As we look back on Day of (No) Silence, also known as Day of Silence, we are reminded of the importance of LGBTQ+ voices. It’s clear LGBTQ+ young people still face many specific challenges in the world and that they need the support of adult allies. Sometimes, however, the best advice and support can come from their own peers.

The 2024 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People concluded with the open-ended prompt: “We would love for you to share a message of advice or encouragement to other young people in the LGBTQ community.”

Check out these affirmations and advice from LGBTQ+ young people for LGBTQ+ young people ([link removed]) on topics including: how to accept yourself, avoiding negativity, finding community, and practicing perseverance. We hope you’ll share this with a young person who needs it, or read it for yourself to learn how to be an even better ally from queer youth themselves.
