Team — This is a historic moment for our party and our country. Yesterday, Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden’s running mate, making her the first Black woman to be nominated as Vice President on a major party ticket. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kamala on several issues in Congress, including on legislation to provide new funding for research and education on uterine fibroids. We have also worked together on legislation that would commission a statue of Brooklyn’s own Shirley Chisholm to be displayed in the United States Capitol. And while 2020 has made many things uncertain, there’s one thing I can guarantee: Donald Trump and Mike Pence are in the fight of their political lives. Vice President Joe Biden couldn't have made a better choice in a running mate, and I look forward to doing whatever it takes to send Joe and Kamala to the White House.
