Hi Friend,

This week, Economic Liberties, along with the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, the American Sustainable Business Council, and more than 30 independent restaurants, launched a new small business organizing campaign called Protect Our Restaurants

Protect Our Restaurants is Economic Liberties’ first small business organizing initiative – and it’s coming at a crucial moment. Delivery apps like Doordash, GrubHub, Postmates, and UberEats are exploiting restaurants, workers, and consumers – and driving restaurants that are already struggling with the impact of COVID-19 out of business. By mobilizing restaurant owners, workers, civil society groups, and consumers, we hope to ensure that local, state, and federal policymakers take action to regulate these predatory apps.

We created a guide that explains how to organize restaurant owners and others in your community to protect local restaurants from predatory apps. And we’re joining with restaurants around the country to demand that the Federal Trade Commission do its job and investigate these blatantly exploitative practices that cheat restaurants, drivers, and consumers. You can sign up to support our efforts and get more information at ProtectOurRestaurants.com – we hope you do!

Protect Our Restaurants is also making the news – you can read more about it in AxiosCQ Roll Call and Morning Consult. And please help us keep spreading the word on Facebook and Twitter by using our social media toolkit

Many thanks for your support.

Warmly,

Sarah Miller
