Consumer prices jump again in July, rebounding from pandemic lows

The cost of many goods and services rose in July in a rebound from pandemic lows, but inflation is still barely visible in the wake of a pandemic-induced recession that sapped demand throughout the economy. The consumer price index rose 0.6% for the second month in a row, the government announced this week. However, the cost of food and recreation were among the few categories to show declines in prices.

Walmart and Instacart partner for same-day US delivery

Walmart is partnering with Instacart to offer same-day delivery starting in a few U.S. markets, making it the latest major grocery chain to team up with Instacart in its fight against Amazon and Whole Foods. The partnership is currently in a pilot phase in four markets across California and in Oklahoma.
