John,

Once again a huge victory last night for the American people and the
progressive movement.

Ilhan Omar won her primary against an establishment challenger who
out-raised her by over 2 million dollars.

Right wing media came after her with everything they had. Venture
capitalists, real estate developers, and CEOs funded her opponent’s
campaign. Pro-Israel America PAC, AIPAC and supporters of Benjamin
Netanyahu, Israel's criminally-indicted right-wing extremist Prime
Minister, spent at least another $400,000 in outside spending to take her
down.

And we all know Donald Trump desperately wanted her to lose. He’s spent
two years demonizing her and the other members of the Squad. He famously
told her to “go back” to the country she came from, despite Ilhan being an
American citizen, and even led his supporters in chants of “send her back”
at his campaign rallies.

Everyone came at Ilhan except progressives nationwide and, more
importantly, the people of her district. Ilhan won with more than 57% of
the vote -- defeating her opponent by more than 18 points.

Last night’s victory shows that wealthy establishment insiders and
right-wing interests are no match for a movement of people fighting for
change.

Democracy for America has been honored to fight alongside Ilhan since the
beginning when we endorsed her early in the primary during her first run
for Congress in 2018. Together we’ll keep fighting for Medicare for All, a
Green New Deal, voting rights and criminal justice.

DFA is working hard to win in tough races across the country. Will you
