Pennsylvania is an Energy Giant That Keeps Tripping Over Its Own Red Tape
Pennsylvania has an energy problem—and it has nothing to do with what’s in the ground. The commonwealth is an energy powerhouse by almost any measure.
Pennsylvania exports 89 million megawatt-hours of electricity per year, making it the nation’s leading electricity exporter. The Keystone State also ranks among the nation’s top producers of natural gas, nuclear power, and coal, powering and heating American homes and businesses nationwide.
Yet Pennsylvanians pay more for electricity.

Tax-credit scholarships are vital to Pennsylvania students and families. But they could help even more kids if lawmakers in Harrisburg got out of the way.
Of course, I’m talking about Pennsylvania’s flagship scholarship programs: the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC).

Commonwealth Foundation Joins Education Secretary McMahon to Advance Educational Freedom in Pennsylvania
Last Friday, the Commonwealth Foundation joined national and state leaders under the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg to deliver a straightforward message: Gov. Josh Shapiro must opt in to the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) program.
Education Secretary Linda McMahon, whose team organized the event, kicked it off with opening remarks, highlighting the importance and value of school choice.
