If you tax a billionaire their fair share, you know what they are? Still a billionaire.
Their kids, kids, kids, kids are still going to be rich. Maybe they could pay their fair share so us and our kids don’t have to choose between one part of a dignified life or another. It’s not that hard.
For example, at a billionaire tax of just 4%, we could fund ACA and Medicaid subsidies that Republicans cut. We could fund vision, dental and hearing for all of our seniors. We could cut payroll taxes, and we'd still have money left over.
The fact that life has become so hard for so many is not a personal failing. It's a policy failure of a government that has failed us for far too long in a country where we're supposed to have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
