We officially have an opponent -- and we should be ready to fight back with everything we've got against Loren Culp. Here's why:

1. While I've been fighting to protect Washingtonians' public health and safety every single day, he has argued masks aren't necessary. Why? Because he's been "meeting and greeting people, handshakes, hugs, talking to thousands of people every day." Let's be clear, if this is true, he could be threatening the public safety of thousands.
2. As governor, he said he'd oppose a mask mandate and would follow the lead of states like Florida (where recent outbreaks have devastated the state).
3. He would recklessly reopen everything from schools to restaurants to music venues.
4. And he tweets things that sound too familiar, like a tweet citing a misleading study claiming vote-by-mail is "not effective." As we've seen as recently as last week in Washington state, that is a dangerous lie.

He's a Donald Trump clone through and through, and he wants to run Washington state just like Donald Trump runs our country. People may say he's not a "serious candidate," but -- well, look who is sitting in the White House -- we cannot take any opponent for granted, including Loren Culp.

The race to Election Day starts now, and with the Republican Governors Association's war chest overflowing ready to back up my opponent, we have to be ready: We set an aggressive mid-month deadline goal to raise $25,000 by Friday at midnight. Will you chip in $5 or more right now to fight back against my new right-wing opponent?
