Hi friends, it’s been a few months since California voters overwhelmingly passed Prop 50 and established updated congressional districts to counter Trump’s midterm power grab.
I want to take a second to talk about what winning in these new maps looks like, and what you can do to help.
First, let’s talk CA-51:
My district was actually made a bit more competitive in the new maps, by about 4-5 points.
It was stretched to the east, absorbing areas previously in the 48th District (represented currently by Republican Darrell Issa). I’m so excited to welcome voters in areas like Julian and Lakeside and I’ve loved being out on the campaign trail and meeting new folks already.
And it’s not just my race I’m focused on — over the next seven months or so, I’m going to be reaching out to this team about important races to track and ways to get involved all over the country.
But today, I’m asking my strongest supporters to chip in to my own re-election campaign to boost our April fundraising numbers.
I don’t reach out about fundraising too often, but the fact is that we’re behind where we need to be for the month, and getting back on track has a big impact on what we can do between now and November.
Representing CA-51 in Congress is a huge honor — and one I don’t take for granted for a single second. I’ll keep getting out on the campaign trail this year to listen to voters about their concerns and priorities, and share how I plan to support them if I’m elected to serve a fourth term.
If you can, please consider contributing to my re-election campaign so I can keep up this work and make sure I’m ready to deliver a strong victory in November.
